Mothers Day
Mothers Day is fast approaching and if you’re already thinking you’re stuck for Mothers Day ideas including a Mothers Day gift I’ve compiled a list of things to help you plan Mothers Day to remember.
In no specific order, you can;
Go to or host your own high tea. There are a lot of lovely teas blends available, The Victoria Room Tea Salon in Sydney has divine teas and High Tea at the Victoria Room in Darlinghurst is a delightful way to spend an afternoon. The tea, sandwiches, petit fours and ambience makes for a very special day. You can also find some good blends at a health food shop or supermarket; Celestial Seasonings makes a really nice chai tea. The last high tea I hosted I made cute little sandwiches using salmon dip to which I added smoked salmon pieces and tzatziki dip with fresh shredded cucumber added to it. Using an oval shaped cookie cutter I made petite sandwiches with sliced bread.Very simple and very cute.
Instead of giving your mother a bunch of flowers (it’s so 2011) give her a Gift of Seeds. This little packet includes seeds, a poem and gift card.
Make your mum a chocolate fudge cake. This recipe is delicious.
Make a paper heart garland and string it along a wall or furniture, if you can hang this up before your mum gets up she’ll wake up to a string of fluttering hearts. What a great way to start the day.
With the cool weather fast approaching this Love Embroidered Rug will keep the chill away and put a smile on your mums face every time she picks it up.
A Tealight Candle Holder is a gorgeous mothers day gift. Use with beeswax tealights to create a wonderful display of light as the light from the candle come through the cutout design on the porcelain.
Make your mum a mixtape of her favourite songs. You may have to do some investigative work to find out what she likes and you could also develop a new found appreciation for baroque music.
