After friday's
orange and poppyseed cupcake effort I felt like I needed something healthy to snack on, something sugar free and green. Apart from seaweed I couldn’t think of anything sugar free and green till I remembered seeing a recipe for kale chips. I’ve always avoided kale for 2 reasons, first it looks like it would be a bitter mean spirited vegetable and second I had no idea what to do with it. The second problem was solved upon finding the kale chips recipe and I thought I should just give it a go and learn for myself if it was bitter or not.
Kale Chips Recipe
Ingredients:
1 bunch of Kale
Oilve Oil
1-2 tsps of Sesame Seeds
Sea Salt
To make kale chips:
Preheat the oven to 80 degrees celcius
Wash, dry and roughly chop the Kale
Add the kale to a dish or lined baking tray
Drizzle the kale with olive oil, toss it around to mix in the olive oil
Bake for 30 minutes and remove from oven
Toss the Kale around and sprinkle with sesame seeds
Bake for another 30 minutes till it’s crispy
Add sea salt
This has got to be one of the easiest and healthiest snacks I’ve made and importantly it’s delicious.
