Sitting down with a cup of tea and a newspaper on Saturday morning I came across an interesting article about gift buying for Father’s Day. The article was essentially about how times have changed and that there has been a shift away from giving traditional gifts, particularly tools because our lifestyles have changed. More and more people are living in the city where the shed has been replaced by small courtyards, balconies, a sunroom or even a media room. Inner city, space challenged dads are spending less time tinkering with big toys and more time on gadgety and tech type things.

The editor of tech website CNET Australia has also said that men often want to make the big purchase themselves which includes doing the research and picking something out. This is great for us as there are so many add ons and accessories available for the big purchases. The mobile phone holder, iPhone bottle opener  and  iPhone docking station  are perfect examples of this.
